Learn together and stay healthy.

The first family holiday in 2023 takes you to the Weserbergland.

It is primarily aimed at families with small and school-age children.

We deal with the “school system in Lower Saxony”, educational issues and the right nutrition for children.

We go on excursions together or give information about what offers are interesting nearby.

Trip to the North Sea - July 30, 2023 to August 6, 2023

Our children are our future.

We offer a family holiday on the North Sea island of Borkum in summer.

The topic we will talk about during the stay i

is the “school system in Lower Saxony”, educational issues, especially for school children.

Trip to the Harz - October 14th, 2023 to October 21st, 2023

One family – many tasks.

One theme of our trip to the Harz is:

“Equality and gender justice”.

We will discuss these topics.

Mainly it's about relaxation and spending time together with the family. We walk, go on excursions and learn a lot about nature.

September to December 2022 - We're getting involved!

We're getting involved!

This seminar for women working in families provides knowledge about, among other things, the political system of the Federal Republic, women's rights and local forms of civic participation (e.g. in integration or district councils).

In addition to the democratic system, we investigate questions of personal and professional development. For example, questions like “where can I find like-minded people and how can I contribute my interests or get involved in society?”

August 2022 to July 2023 - That's a chance! - Part 1

This is an opportunity!

Young people should try things out, get to know different sports or deal with new topics.

With this offer we want to give you the opportunity to do so.

This also includes topics such as communication and discrimination that young people encounter every day.

since September 2022

Creative sewing and discussion group

Sewing is a creative process that can create new products. In a community, knowledge and experiences are passed on and new contacts are made at the same time. This is a good activity, especially for mothers, for example to create new clothes from old ones. This project is aimed at refugee women who live in refugee accommodation.

In addition to instructions for sewing, topics such as raising children, the school system, etc. are also covered. discussed.

Family leisure time on Borkum 2022

In August, almost 20 people went on a family holiday to the North Sea. In addition to the exchange about equality, women's rights and educational issues for adolescents, climate change in the North Sea, environmental protection and changes in living conditions for people and animals were discussed.

In addition to sports, games, exchanges and getting to know different families, everyone had fun and was able to relax in the wonderful summer weather.

Otterndorf Youth Leisure 2022

Many young people like to spend their free time on social media and forget that exercise and doing sports together can also be interesting and fun.

In addition to playing, this offer is also about being together.

New contacts among young people across cultural and religious boundaries have the advantage of correcting their own attitudes and existing prejudices.

And all that by the way.

The North Sea coast also offers plenty of opportunities to deal with climate change and nature.

June 2022

Bundestag Berlin 2022

In June 2022 we went to the German Bundestag.

At the invitation of Ms. Yasemin Fahimi, member of the Bundestag, 20 young people were able to take part in the trip. For the young people it was the first trip to the federal capital Berlin and the Bundestag. The newly immigrated young people had prepared for the trip during school lessons.

Unfortunately, Ms. Fahimi was not available for an interview because she had taken on a new job as chairwoman of the German Trade Union Confederation at short notice on June 1st, 2022.

In addition to the Bundestag and the Reichstag building, the Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz and Lindenallee were interesting photo opportunities.

March 2022

We have many similarities

There are children and young people from different religious and cultural groups in the schools. They spend a lot of time together in the mornings. Friendships also develop without including the topic of religion.

Knowledge about the values of the “others” is not that developed and is usually not discussed. Different religions, attitudes and rituals are lived and passed on in families. This often limits curiosity about new contacts.

In this seminar we will address the question of where I come from and what values are important to me (and my family). So questions that can be helpful for the further development of young people.

When asked about the important holidays that families celebrate, commonalities again emerge, such as gifts for children, special foods, and many family members coming together.

In between, we have fun playing games together!

September to October 2021

Against discrimination and racism

In order to further promote volunteer commitment, we are also planning further training for volunteers with an immigration background this year.

It deals with the topics of discrimination, racism, violence prevention and conflict management.

The training takes place over 2 weekends.

August 2021

Holiday fun

Children and young people need variety, fun and exercise during the summer holidays.

At the Otterndorf summer camp we offer this opportunity. Under the motto:

“The others and us!”

we discuss prejudices, traditions and discrimination.

For beginner swimmers, we offer the opportunity to practice and take swimming tests (seahorse, bronze, silver badge).

It's a lot of fun...

July to December 2021

Creative discussion group for women

Get to know new women, meet, exchange ideas and develop creative products.

Many contacts have been lost during the pandemic. The fear of becoming infected has led to a retreat into the private sphere.

With this offer we want to give single women and mothers the opportunity to get to know each other over a glass of tea, discuss interesting topics and, with guidance, new items of clothing can be created. Every woman has ideas that can be implemented or expanded, including knitting and crocheting together or creating decorative table decorations.

Every Wednesday from 1:30 p.m

IT STARTS AGAIN

Corona also kept us busy at the beginning of 2021 and limited our face-to-face activities.

We are now offering various promotions again!

Conversations, movement and exchange are important parts of social life,

We want to promote and develop that.

September to October 2020

Present and confident appearance

Who doesn't know this: The club, the new project, a new idea should be presented to an audience and as well and successfully as possible. This task is usually carried out by those who already know how to do it and are experienced.

In these two modules we want to reduce fears of public appearances, provide security during presentations and while working with small intercultural groups and thus strengthen self-confidence.

EUROPE 2020

Project days on the topic of “Europe” were held as part of the school offerings.

Many newly immigrated children and young people do not know the history of the European Union.

A reason to discuss this topic intensively together. The students' reactions were initially skeptical, then committed and ultimately eager for more information.

These successful days will be expanded next year 2021.

June 2020

CORONA

The corona virus has blocked a lot of things and suspended things that were taken for granted. School attendance, sports activities, events and meetings with family and friends. Things are getting a little better again, there are some relaxations. Many students have had a difficult time.

They want to learn and do not have the necessary technical resources and opportunities to do so.

The schools sometimes sent teaching material via email or WhatsApp and exchanged information online

Zoom or Skype organized. Effective digital learning with a cell phone is not effective and leads to frustration.

That's why our association "Iku.N eV" started a laptop campaign.

Several laptops were purchased and given away to families with school-age children/young people.

This enabled us to reach some young people and children and support digital learning with the technical equipment.

January to February 2020

From the Middle Ages to Democracy (political education)

“If you don’t know the past, you can’t understand the present and you can’t shape the future.”

- Helmut Kohl, 1995, Bundestag speech

Under this motto, we want to convey the history of democracy in Germany to newly immigrated children, young people and parents in a playful way.

In the seminar “From the Middle Ages to Democracy” several centuries are included in the games and include the estate society, the German Revolution, the First and Second World Wars as well as the founding of the two German states up to the formation of the European Union.

The primary goal of the seminar is to realize that democracy lives from and through the participation of citizens.

Since 2017 - there has been an art project “Art for Children and Young People”

Since 2017, several projects have been taking place at schools for children and young people as part of our educational offering.

These offers take place in primary and secondary schools. As a rule, it targets primary school children or children in language learning classes.

A joint art project gives all children the chance to contribute their individual skills, learn from each other and develop their own creative ideas. The children's wishes and needs are the focus of attention. You learn to value yourself and others, the ability to deal with conflict is promoted and, as a prevention goal, the ability to differentiate yourself and come to terms with your own identity.

There is no right or wrong here. Rather, there are ways and strategies to solve problems and realize goal-oriented design projects. This is particularly important for children with particular difficulties, detached from everyday problems. The children are given space for individual experiences. Creative design creates the conditions for experiencing yourself as creative and strong. This promotes confidence in your own abilities. It is also important to strengthen children's autonomy, to enable them to recognize their own needs and to act self-confidently and independently.
